There are others that leave a lasting impact forever…

George Clinkscale is one that will never be forgotten!

All of us at DSD have had the honor and privilege over the last year to get to know George or “Big G” as we call him.
From the first day George walked into the facility I saw the determination on his face.
Later I learned that that determination was not just to be a great athlete and football player…
But to be a great man!
I have been fortunate to get to know George pretty well over the last year…
From the training sessions to the long talks in the office to the motivational phone calls.
It always would start with me encouraging and motivating him but by the end he was the one motivating the both of us.
To see how far George has come over the last year as an athlete has been great but most importantly as a MAN!
If you new George you would have never guessed he was only 24…His maturity level was big and his heart was even BIGGER!
I think of George as he would make everyone in the facility feel special from th 9 year old to the average joe..
I would catch myself saying “George Clinkscale” everytime someone would ask me what The DSD STRONG meant on my reminderband.

George is what DSD STRONG is all about!

S- Strength (all aspects: Physical, Spiritual, Mental, Emotional)
T- Toughness
R- Relentless
O- Optimistic- no matter the circumstance
N- Never satisfied
G- Guts

DSD STRONG means:
Strong in all aspects of life (Physical, Spiritual, Emotional, Mental).

It’s what it takes to push yourself through those last reps in the weight room and those last reps in life.
It’s what it takes to get up and train on the days you don’t feel like it and to do those things in life that are not always comfortable.
It’s never being satisfied with what you’ve accomplished and always wanting more for you and those you love.
It’s staying STRONG even when things are not going your way and always believing in what you were called to do.
It’s pushing through it all to be the BEST to you can for yourself an for others!

That’s DSD Strong! That’s George Clinkscale!

George will truly be missed and will always be remembered!
His HUMILITY when he would break a Record!
His HARD WORK in and out of the gym to be great and the desire that burned so strong in him to provide for his family!
His conitinued FOCUS even when thing where not going his way!
His DETERMINATION…I remember during a huge snow storm we closed the facility, but not for Big G. He insisted on training so I was on my way….I get a call from George as he tells me he is going to be late because his car got stuck in the snow and he was walking to the facility. I insisted on picking him up as I find him walking down Mingo as he left his car stuck in the snow. I remember asking him , “What do you want to do with yoru car?” He replied, “We can worry about that later, I’ve got to train!”
His love for his FAMILY- How he would talk about being a great dad and the love he had for his fiance as he would share the plans he had for them in the future!
His PASSION about everything and anything that he was doing at the moment…even those things that you would know he would nto care to do…
His COMPETITOR Attitude to be the best in the facility and the best outside of the facility!
His Big SMILE and JOYFUL SPIRIT ALL the time!
His GRATEFULNESS…It would always touch my heart as George could not tell us thank you enough for helping him.

George truly wanted to make a difference and it was always great to listen to him as a proud athlete, father, super stoked fiance and a GREAT man with a Big Smile and a BIGGER Heart!

RIP Big G!

We love you man and you will be missed!
